Peruvian poet, born in Cusco in l962. He studied engineering and literature at the Universidad Nacional de San Agustin de Arequipa. He currently teaches Quechua at NYU, the University of New York. He writes in Quechua and Spanish, the author of numerous books of poetry, including:
Child's Play, 1988, Valle Sagrado, 1993 Souls, 1998; Tunupa / The book of mermaids, 2002, and The School of Cusco, 2005. In 1996, he published The Condemned or the anguished soul in the Andean oral tradition. In 1992 he received the National Award "César Vallejo" from the Journal of Commerce of Lima. That same year he received the National Poetry Award of the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos in Lima.
His special research interest is the Quechua Oral Tradition of the XVI-XXI centuries.
